Wheel Studs Rusting out on New S60
Long story short, I bought an Brand New S60 with 1/2" X 3" long wheel studs. They are rusting bad and its only been installed on the car for 3 weeks. You would think that a $2500 rear would come with decent studs...guess not.
I browsed Summit quickly and did not come across any screw-in 1/2" extended studs. What are you guys running or replacing them with? Thanks

Are they rusting or is it oxidation? Rusting = metal loss ... oxidation = color change. I am running 1/2"-20 x 2" studs on pro-race axles and have seen no signs of either one, but mine car is garage kept and doesn't see rain. I imagine they are the same studs as yours (2" A1025's vs. 3" A1026's).

I did some more searching and I think these will work?

Let us know how the replacement goes. Do you have 4-channel brake backing plates where you can remove the sensor to change the studs? I have 3-channel without the sensor hole so I have thought about drilling out the backing plates to be able to change studs when I need to. My axles are also drilled for 5/8" studs and even a 3rd pattern in 4.75" for Fords.

I deleted abs and tcs, and bought new backing plates with the rear so I wouldnt have to send mine in when the rear was getting built. The backing plates they installed have the hole to replace the studs without pullling the axles so install should be easy. I got the ARP studs in the link I posted above, so I'll see how they work out

I deleted my ABS and bought new backing plates as well so I could re-install my 10-bolt as a de-mod later. I bought the 3-channel (no hole) plates because the 4-channel (w/hole) plates were $120 each more. I figured I would drill them later if I ever needed to change my studs.
