if i'm not mistaken you would want to do the exact opposite. you would want a longer axle with corvette offset rims. Guys with vette offset rims run spacers, maybe someone else can confirm this....

I have a better idea...run wheels with the proper offset. If you alter the length of the axles and housing, you are going to be stuck running whatever wheels will fit that offset.

The rear housing width has nothing to do with being able to run 315s...the size and shape of the fenders do.

They fit well under the fender where the stocks did.

Yep, more practical to modify the fender well around the tire/wheel than to modify the axles... Easier too, just grab a BFH

It depends on the wheel/tire combo. The 295/35/18s on my CCW 18x11 rears required me to roll the fenders, hammer spots on the inner wells, and grind on the bump stops.

Definitely agree .... I ordered my S60 with the stock offset so I could run ZR1's or any other street F-Body wheel back space. My drag set-up will be RaceStars so the F-body back space will be fine. The only other option would be to narrow it so as to mount deeper dish wheel (less back space) ... it does look really good, but it limits your street wheel options.

A word of advice from experience .... if you are planning a UMI, BMR or Spohn drag sway bar, be sure to order your rear without the "stock" sway bar brackets. Also to be sure look at your axle stud options .... 12x1.5, 1/2x20 or 5/8 and 1.5"-3" long.

I presume you have decided on your carrier and gear ratio.
