Default brake backing plates

question:are the backing plates on a v6 and a v8 the same ?? the reason is i'm thinking about buying a strange 12bolt for my 02 Z28 and they need your backing plates to complete the assembly . i have a parts car for body parts and was wondering if a 99 v6 backing backing plates are the same as my 02z28's??? thats so i can keep my original rear end intact. thanks ahead of time the oldman

Since the rears are both 10 bolts, they should be the same, except for the one-tire-fire with the V6 of course. As long as the V6 doesn't have rear drums I would think you'd be alright. But don't take my word for it (so essentially my post is useless to you).
