Default 05 auto gto rebuild diff questions....

I am mechanically inclined but don't claim to be a master technician though. Reason because I'm in to computers so I am a master pc technician, I have my own computer mobile/onsite tech business.

I do work on my own cars and family's cars, so as long I have the right tools and if it's a first time I'm going to do something like a rear diff rebuild for my 05 auto Pontiac gto then some type of guide, service manual, walkthrough or something can help me.

I have a 05 auto gto and the stock rear diff sounds like it needs a rebuilt kit of some kind such as bearings, seals, etc and also possible new gears, then maybe throw in a truetrac lsd.

It seems like I won't be able to afford $1,600 for a new Eaton Truetrac pois, all new bearings and seals for $1600. plus shipping. I would love for this shop I found online to rebuilt but man I didn't know it was going to cost that much.

I always say labor is usually more than parts, I guess so. That's why I like to do the labor work myself, now does anyone know what special tools I need and instructions out there. It seems doing diffs is not a friendly DIY. Thanks
