2 series or 3 series gears?
Hello All,
Just a typical n00b question, my car (1998 Camaro Z28) is a factory NON TCS, GU2 car that I'm wanting to upgrade my 2.73 gears to 3.73 gears for my Yank SS4000 Converter. In the process I'd like to also replace the differential with either a Detriot TrueTrac Differential, or an Eaton Differential. My question is, with replacing the differetial to one of the two above mentioned.. Would i stick with a 2 series Gear or a 3 Series gear? I've heard 2 different answers as to what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I plan on ordereing soon.
Thank you all!

your 98 would have an Auburn differential,is there something wrong with it that you need to replace it ?
I can't answer about Detroit TrueTrac as I'm not familiar with them.
You didn't state which Eaton.

As far as I know, the clutchtype Eaton LSD is only available as 3 series.
the other Eatons I'm not familiar with.

The factory diff has ALOT of miles on it and its very noisy, I'd like to replace it. I just need to know if I'd use 2 series or 3 series gears with the Diffs i mentioned, I appreciate your reply
