Default What is going to break in my diff? Take a guess?

1200 hp blown 402 running through a th400.

My diff:
Ford 8.8 out of an explorer.
tubes are only 18" long for 16" wide tires
Strange 33 spline axles
Strange posi
stock ring/pin (373)
Ford 9" ends
No girdle
Using track/tru arch bars

Im going to launch this car with every thing its got at 7200 rpm. I need to head off an exploding diff before it happens though. What do you guys think is the weak link/ going to break first? Suggestions apprecd.

**** who knows if you have that much power and if you are launching that high. For one I wouldnt have a posi unit. Steel spool only,Drive shaft better be killer with billet yokes on the rear and slip joint on the trans. Stock ring and pinion no go. should run a pro gear. more splines the better.

what stahl size do you have for 7200rpm in a t400? launching off a transbrake? 2 step?

iron or aluminum case? bolt thru case?

i was launching at 7200rpm with a m6 off a 2 step in the ole 12 bolt, but it got noise as all get out so i went to a 9".
and broke the pinion & gear along with the strange aluminum case first time at the track dialing in the new 9" on the second pass @ 4500rpm......

I do have billet yokes (not cheap ). I wanted to run a posi instead of a spool because this is also a street driven car. The guy from strange said it might hold together but no guarantees...They dont make a 33 spline locker that I know of..eaton keeps saying that one will be released soon but thats what they said last year...
You are not going to believe this but this is a foot brake car. This might help soften a launch but not a whole lot. Im running a 4000 stall. Dont really want to go any higher because im running the car on the street and dont want the trans slipping at every stoplight..
It is a heavy as a ***** iron case.
Also I forgot to mention I welded the tubes to the case.

Should be quite a trick launching at 7200 with a 4000 converter lol. Since you don't have a trans brake I'd bet it will hold up. Make sure you have a cover with main cap supports and ditch the stock gears.

Is there a REAL alloy difference in aftermarket gears? If so who should I get them from?

Aftermarket street / strip gears are usually made from 8620 alloy, pro gears are 9310. Lots of sponsors have them, Summit, etc.

haha that's hilarious, i'm guessing the ring gear, possibly the or the posi unit itself but honestly it sounds to me like the whole rear isn't going to cut it for your setup
