4.10 gear and 28" tall tires..... Will I run out of gear?
I have a 2000 SS A4 with following mods
Lt's
Ported tb
Lid
True duals
Ms3
3600 stall
And spray.
28" tall DR
Currentley the car has stock 3.23 gears.I run a 325/50/15 out back. I was told that due to tire size my 3.23 was really like a 2.98 gear.
My tuner said to get 4.10's which with my tire would be about a 3.65 gear.
My qusetion is what would it put my rpms at when doing 65-70 mph?
Will I run out of gear in the 1/4 mile if I spray?
I do daily drive the car.

So would u suggest a 3.73 gear or a 3.90?(if u can get a 3.90 for a 10 bolt)
Cause I am still on a stock 10 bolt. And that's why I didn't change gears is to keep the bigger pinion gear of my 3.23'

Im with Kidmaro, at 600rwhp on spray with 27" tires, 4:10, and a T56 i was out of gear but also ran 132mph too. If you are planning on running faster than that then move to a rear 3:90 gear, which is better for DD anyways.
Yes you can get a 3:90 in the 7.5 gear set series.

im running 600rwhp as well on a 150 shot. I had a 26" MT on there before and spraying the gears werent long enough for me, so I stepped up to a 28" nitto and its much better.

You news to figure out your converter slip percentage to determine your rpm. That calculator assumes a locked converter. tci.com has some calculators that include converter slip into their calculation. Keep in mind you converter will slip more when sprayed.
