Default 6 Banger?

First time going amaerican cause im tired of getting my *** kicked by american Lmao. But i got a 99 v6 5spd camaro. Originaly i was goin to do a ls7 swap but i wanna be dif. Don't have any grand dreams of building a 10 sec 6 banger just want high 12's but i've been reading the threads about the dif reae ends. Which would be the best for a 400-500hp v6? I kno they dont put out the torque that the 8's do but i'd rather get it right the first time.

You're in the wrong forum, but check out fullthrottlev6.com, camarov6.com and v6f-body.com for more info.

I had my old '00 3.8 in the 13s on the bottle, but that was 10 years ago.

He don't need no 9" for a V6, unless he's putting out some major power.

I dont see the 3.8 making anywhere near 400hp. My old 2002 3.8l blew head gaskets on stock internals. I was trying to go the same route you were, try to push out enough power to give the v8's a run for their money. For the money you are going to put into it you could buy a v8 for more power with more upgrade potential. I hated hearing that while i was reading the forum but after buying the SS I realized everyone was right. I had headers, lid, ram air, catback exhaust and still wasnt pushin 250hp and still getting my *** torn up by the big guys. IF your serious though you may want to check out and maybe get yourself a good gasket set.

Run the 10 bolt until it blows. I know someone who has a 12.4 second v6 on the bottle and his first 10 bolt has been perfectly fine. The second one (for a gear ratio change), well, it blew up in short order so now it has the first one back under it again lol.
