Default Other than ordinary rear ends?

Broke my 10 bolt the other day. Most likely replacement will be a 9" or 8.8. I was just wondering though, other than the 9", 12-bolt, dana 60, or 8.8, has anyone put in something different? For example has anyone ever tried putting a 14 bolt in their camaro/firebird, or any other than ordinary rear-end? and of course, how did it fair?

The small 14 bolt is a large version of the 12 bolt. The large version is too big and heavy and have full floating 8 bolt hubs.

You would be better off sticking with the normal stuff. If your car is stick shift you don't want a 12 bolt. 9" or S60 is your best bet.

yeah 14 bolt way too heavy, like 60 or 70 lbs heavier, maybe even more
