3.73 gears ?
Ok I am new to the forum I recently bought a 02 ws6 fro a friend. Well the rear end makes an awful lot of noise and I'm getting it all rebuilt. My question is should I go to 3.73 gears? I have the 4l60e and only have a slp exhaust with highflow cats and a lid. The gears are only 200. So i just wanted to see your guys opinions. I figured they should give me a little more power out of the hole. So please help me out I'm getting it done Thursday..

Ok so another question I had was, what about getting the car recalibrated? Is it going to mess my shift points up and when the car will downshift at wide open throttle? Right now at a 25 roll it takes off amazing I really don't want to lose that. Will I just have to so a roll from 20 instead. Thanks guys

Not to jack the thread but since his question has been answered, what is everyones thoughts on gearing a stock 10 bolt? Assuming the way you drive it stays the same, will it reduce the life of it at all?

With 2.73s I was at 1900rpm at 70mph. With 3.73s I now run 1900rpm at 55mph. Not bad.... Increases exhaust volume, increases sotp...pulls harder throughout the rpm range.
Snappy off the line.
Lose 1 or 2 mpg depending on your car/tune.. but it's not really noticable comparably to the plus side of gears.
