Default 8.8

Ok, so I may have an 8.8. I'm not sure how to read this tag but it reads: S613c R
3L373 88 7a28
Any one know what this means? Which one do I have?

That's what I was thinking, but I was most concerned with the traction lock part of the differential. The only down side I see to this one is the 28 spline axle. But, then agin it should work. And I can upgrade the center section at a later date to 31 spline and upgrade the axles then also. I'm going to pay $200.00 for it so it seems like ok deal to me. What do you think?

If your followig my build and want the cheapest option then you want the 28 spline to slip the 10 bolt tubes in. And yes your tag reads 3:73 locker 28 spline. 3 channel abs.

Cheep is good! I'm most concerned that I will be able to upgrade this rear to 31 spline center section and axles. So far from what I have found, I think it's possible, and pretty cheep. Moser axles are $250-$350 and a ford performance differential is almost $300.00 I think. But for now, I'm just going to keep it simple by using my stock axles and a "hiltsy855" torque arm mount.

Yes, you can convert to 31 spline. You just need a 31 spline carrier.

I plan on getting started this week end when I'll have the entire shop to myself. Maybe as soon as Friday.
