Default how will a strange S60 or Moser ride & sound in 2002 SS with bilsteins ?

my stock 10 bolt p.o.s. is becoming louder than the stereo.
I am considering a complete rear replacement, and the only two I know of currently are the Strange S60 and a Moser. If there are any others let me know. All I want is for the rear to be quiet and vibration free. My concern is with the extra weight that the car is going to ride different. I had a set of chrome zr-1 wheels that were heavier than my oem 10-spokes and I could tell the difference in ride quality. Will this happen with a replacement rear that's something like 50 lbs heavier ?
And I don't need a strong rear end, I don't abuse the car, so should i just have the 10-bolt rebuilt?

i cant comment on if it will ride different but i would not suggest rebuilding your 10bolt even if you dont beat on it much. do it once the right way so you never have to worry again

Rebuilding your 10 bolt is probably around $1k depending whats broken. If you were to get a new rear end your looking at $3k+. I went from a 10 bolt to an s60 with no problems. I don't think you will feel the 50 lbs, I didn't. And it's as solid as a rock for any torture.

I have SLP Bilsteins and added a Strange 12-bolt. I always thought the rear Bilsteins were a little harsh riding, but the extra weight of the 12-bolt seemed to soften up the ride. Nothing scientific, just an observation.

As far as my Strange 12-bolt, it's getting quieter the more miles I put on it, couldn't be happier. Good luck whatever you decide.

You can always rebuild your 10 bolt with used parts... mine was rebuilt with like.. $100 worth of parts if your including the oil also lol.

I've got a MWC 9" in my Trans Am and the only thing I noticed is I don't bite my nails everytime I get ready to launch it at 6k. If you never race your car or take it the track I would just rebuild the 10 bolt. I wouldn't want to throw 1k at it though. A garage around here does gears for 75 bucks, and maybe 400 in parts.

I have had an S60 for a month now and I have not seen any ride differences. I can hear it just a bit but nothing like a noisy 10-bolt. It feels more solid but that could be that I also relocated the LCAs with relocation brackets. The True-trac makes a little noise under load in a tight turn. We weighed them and there was a 55lb difference.
