Default Locker or posi?i gotta buy one NOW!!

i got a guy at my job thats offering me a 28 spline locker with 3.42s in it for $125. i dont know how loud it will be.i do alot of street driving and i dont want it to be clunky and loud.he says it only clicks around corners, and its not that loud.
on the other hand i found a rear end with 342.s out of a 99 z28 for $300.

IF YOU WERE ME,WHICH ONE WOULD YOU GUYS GET AND WHY?i gotta buy one or the other very soon.so let me know.thanks

how many miles on each? seems like the locker might whine but then the other might also when a deal is to good to be true you have to look close any 6spd stock 10 bolt is scary thats from my experence.

I'll give you 150$ for the locker right now. Easy way to make 25$

There are some videos of lockers around here that have made me certain I don't want one on a street car. Might search for them or look on you tube.

im going with the locker.the videos on YT are of aftermarket 33 and 35 spline detroits.this is a 28 spline auburn.for $125 i cant go wrong.plus i think the stock 10 bolt is a ticking time bomb if i spray 100 shot off the line.

The locker will give you traction from both tires, but the 10 bolt will still be a ticking time bomb. The 10 bolt rear is just too small, everything about it is weak. Bob

So, you know that the number of splines has to do with what axles it will accept, right? As far as I know (not that far) it has nothing else to do with the diff.

I think a locker in a 10 bolt would be useless.

and was very happy with it.( now on a 9"/locker/31 and still happy)

THIS LOCKER IS NOW FOR SALE.the douche bag that i bought it from was supposed to helpe me set it up this morning but he just jerked me around.anyway, its a 28 spline locker with 3.42 gears and $50 worth of bran new bearings on it.i want $200 plus shipping cause i just spent $50 at oreillys on new bearings.$20 for diff and $30 for pinion.new crush sleeve also.IF ANYONE WANT IT,TEXT ME AT 817-fourtwenty-2689. thanks

nothing upsets me more than people telling me there going to do something and then at the last minute they make some douche bag excuse about the doctor. that sucks and i wont deal with people like that.i drained my old diff and was literally wainting on him when he pulled this ****.im just so pissed right now.needed to vent.

im going with the 3.42 complete rear thats just a direct bolt in.just gonna make it a fast street car.hopefully the posi will hold up for four or five passes.thats all.
