Default Aftermarket rears!

I want to go with a 9" setup in my car, (02 camaro) which eventually i plan to have around 550 at the wheels in. the two companies im considering are Moser and Midwest Chassis. the MWC setup comes with the tq arm, is a fabricated setup and claims to be very lightweight. the moser, however, is considerably cheaper.

I do have an adjustable Tq arm, and other than that and the weight, the deals seem very similar. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a company that offers a better rear for a comprable price?

You should look into the S60 from Carl at Central Racing Parts, i bought one and couldn't be happier.

s60 is a little heavier then the 9 but its a great rear end. No problems no noises.

Cheaper depending on what options youre considering. I know most of their upgrades cost more vs MWC, & thats one of the reasons the MWC unit is hard to beat. If you go with a Moser 9 you will have to do some BFH mod on the tunnel or the torque arm will hit due to the torque arm bracket is bulky. I dont have that problem & my car is lowered too. The Fab9 torque arm setup is IMO a superior design & one of the reasons its lighter.

I wont say better but quick performance is another company that you might be able to get into a 9 for around 2k, but you will have to do some work to get everything to line up. You shouldve posted this in the gears & axles section.

I have a MWC 9". Fit and quality was excellent! The price was also comparable to what I would have payed elsewhere. The total weight with backbrace was 21 lbs heavier than the 10 bolt. That's a big advantage over the S60 imo.

I have a MWC 9". I have had no problems with it so far. It fit pretty well and the torque arm is very impressive.

Go with the one that you only install once. Call Carl and get an S60 and forget about it. Mine went in smooth as silk and is quiet as a church mouse.

My MWC setup was cheaper than going to a Moser and a much nicer piece. Once you get a Fabricated 9" you will never think about another rear again no matter which way you go with the car.

Sorry i havent been able to respond sooner everyone, work has been a little crazy lately....

Thanks for the info!... i had originally thought about going with a s60 but i like the interchangeability with the gears of the 9" and how quick it is to swap out a center section. I have a center section already... with gears and a locker already set up in it, so all i would need is the housing with the hardware (axles, mounts, etc) this is my main reason for going with a 9", aside from the fact that it will more than handle the power level i plan to be at with this car...

Basically what im looking for is a good package that i can bolt my brakes onto, bolt in this center section, and go!

I will be making some calls tmro...

Take a look at my prices (free shipping) for both the standard Moser 9 inch and the Moser fabricated 9 inch, called the M9, at the above link. Bob

Look on brutespeed's website and select the options you want. Free shipping so the price you see is the price you pay. As far as installation costs I'm unsure. I do my own work and the assembly of a 9" is too easy to pay someone.

Well there is over 1000$ of option for rear ends.

About shipping to Canada, the price are just horrible, especially the customs fees when you order with UPS .

I bet it would be cheaper to drive15hours back n forth, pay for motel, gas and install than shipping this big part.

So its a good 3500$+tax+shipping+customs fees..this mod is the worst thing on fbodys.
