Default Need help with s60 s trac fluid

Hi I ordered a new s60 rear with s trac posi. I did the 500 mike break in and want to change the fluid. The paper strange gave me said use non synthetic gear oil and gm posi additive but I see everyone says you don't need the additive. I already have the additive and want to know how come people say not to use it. Also, what fluid does everybody use that has a s60? Just wondering if theres a specific brand everyone likes. Thanks

I have the Strac and Carl @ CRP who sold me the rear instructed to NOT use the additive. I honestly cant tell you whether or not the paper from Strange said to or not, I dont have it on hand. Lucas 75-140 non synthetic. Takes around 2.5 quarts

I was told that all of the S60 diffs are mechanical therefor no additive is needed. The tag on the pinion yoke when shipped give the break-in procedure and says that an additive is needed for cone and clutch type diffs.

ssgunny, got a srange from carl [crp] use the lucas that is stated 85/145 change @ 500 break-in miles. i used 80/90 lucas straight mineral base for break-in on my s-trac. then changed to 90/145 lucas no problems. s-trac all metal no need for anti slip. if an s-trac slips it's got serious problems.. the oldman..........
