How much rear end fluid?
Ok I am almost at 50K miles and want to do a bunch of tune up stuff to my car plugs and wires, rear end, fuel filter. How much fluid goes in the rear end when I change it? I know you buy the 75-90 royal purple max gear oild which is like $7.99 a bottle but how many of those do you need? Also you need gm posi additive and how many of those go in the rear end? Also is a gasket necessary? part #?
Thanks, Chris
Thanks, Chris

2 quarts of fluid should do it... just pour it in until it flows back out through the fill hole. Mine took almost 2 full quarts... as for the additive, I don't think you'll need it because most of the high end synthetics (Red Line, Royal Purple, etc) have the additive in it already.

I found that filling the stock rear was a pain in the *** so I bought a little "injector" thing from autozone. It looks like a small turkey-baster and made the job 100% easier. You can also hook a plastic tube to it to make it even easier.
