DS for moser 9"
I have read here before that if you install a moser 9" to a 6 speed f-body you should install a drive shaft that is 1" longer. is this true?

yep ( you should, I did not say must )
6 speed or a4 ( both use same ds ) you may get by with stock but it will not go into the trans as far as should be and may cause a vibration, if you have adajustable lower control arms you may adjust the 9" forward a bit .

Measure from rear end knuckle with a loaded suspension to the surface of the back of the transmission that surrounds the output shaft. By all means, DO NOT put in a longer yoke to compensate. You'll only damage the transmission tailshaft bushing.
