Default Having trouble getting the gears to stop whining.

I set up the pinion and lash by the book(i think) with the lash at .01, give or take .001. The grease pattern was dead centered on the teeth as well. But it was loud as **** and sounded like it was about to come apart. I tightened it to about .004, and it's better, but still wines a bit. WTF? The gears are supposedly low-mileage too.

Edit: it's audible on accell, but 3x worse on decel.

USED gears are nearly impossible to get quiet as they already have a pattern wore-in/established from their previous use.
Your initial lash of .010" was definitely too loose even for new gears as when a pattern wears in,it'll become even looser. I set used gears on the tighter side which seemed to help you when you went to .004".
