Default Can I safely hook?

We all know that the 4L60-E/ and 10 Bolt rears are prone to breaking when you hook 'n book with an LSX in front of them, but how about my V6?

Don't make too much fun... It should be running 220 RWHP/ 220 TQ. I wouldn't think that would be too much for them to handle with some drag radials and hooking on a launch would it?

Put a posi in it, and let her eat! The biggest advantage of the auto in front of the 10 bolt is that when you foot brake it, the ring and pinion are loaded, and ready to go, as opposed to the sudden impact/load behind a 6 speed. Thats why the 6 speed is a 10 bolt eater, and the auto is much less of one lol.

Will a 4L60e bolt up behind a 3.8? I thought they used a different trans mount up.

Yes, that what you have. The V6 has a differnet bolt pattern Pre 98's or 99's were solid casting cases, so they were not interchangeable, but the later 4L60-E's the bellhousing was bolted to the main case, so all you would need to do to switch a v6 4l60 to a v8 or vise versa is change the bellhousing.
