Default NON WHINING GEAR Advise

I want to set up my rear axle with a set of 4.10 gears strictly for street use. I do not plan to race the car. Just plain street fun in a DD.
I dont like WHINING gears.

Independent of the proper setup (I have the tools and know how to do it) I am aware that there different brands and alloys for ring and pinion sets.

What would be the my best bet for a quiet OEM type ring and pinion set?

First of all I think it would be better to stay away from the "performance" type gears and opt for the stock repalacement.

Are the G2 gears any good? YUKON? AAM?
Any experience feedback appreciated.
Thanks

Yukon or AAM would be your best bet, AAM is factory stuff. Back lash needs to be tight on the AAM's. Around .004.

I have motive 4.10s and they were set up around .008 or.009 they make a little noise only at certain speeds under light throttle but are pretty quiet for the most part. One thing i did notice with the motive compared to stock is the much less helical pitch on the gear which contributes to the slight increase in noise.

What kind of MOTIVE gears did you both use?
There is the stock performance (blue box) and the high performance version (orange box)

Its nothing unbearable but if I had the money to do it over I`d want something dead silent..

Mine were orange box which is probably why they're a little noisy.

Default Noise 3.73 gears

Hello maybe someone can help me. I just had some motive 3.73 gears put in my 2000 z28 and I think they are a little louder then they should be. I have had gears like this put in my other cars and they didnt seem loud at all. Do you think they could have done something wrong? Or is it just me. They do seem to be louder when im coasting and not giveing it any gas. What do you think?
