Default 3 Channel to 4 Channel 10 bolt.

Hi guys, My 01 Z28 is a 4 channel, Im putting in a 3 channel 10 bolt.

Yes I know you have to put in 4 channel axles into a 3 channel 10 bolt so my dash doesn't light up like a Christmas tree. And use my 4 channel back plates.

But my question, Is there anything else I have to do??

Is it harder to install 4 channel axles into a 3 channel??

Anything I should know about?

Thanks ya'll.

nothing else to do except possibly removing the 4 channel sensors from the backing plates to allow the axles to go in far enough to install the c-clips.
what year is the replacement rear from ?

yes,the backing plates from the 3 channel rear doesn't have holes for the sensors in them.

Cool, Thanks man.

So the rear I'm getting has 3.42 gears in there and since I'm changing out the axles I'm going to put in 3.73s. Is the shop going to charge me any more $$ in labor to put in the gears since the axles all ready have to come out?

Will it still cost as much if I were to rebuild my rear end?

You have to swap your brake lines over, the hard lines clipped to the axle housing are different. 4 channel has 2 lines, one for each wheel.

Quick Reply: 3 Channel to 4 Channel 10 bolt.
