i have my rear at a shop and they just called me and said my ls1 backing plates wont mount up to the housing that was in my lt1 car. i wanted to avoid swapping brakes if possible. can someone confirm they have swapped the back plates and had it work? i did a search and it seems a few people have swapped them and been fine but the shop says they wont. ill have to go up there tommorrow and see exactly why they wont mount up.

They should work, only difference is the LT1 cars use like a .100" spacer between the axle and bearing since the LT1 calipers sit in a little different spot. Since you have to remove the bearings to install the backing plates (assuming you have c-clip eliminators) you should take those spacers ( I think only moser used those spacers though) off but they wont stop the backing plate from getting installed. The axle flange is exactly the same on both so I'm not sure what wont fit..
