Default Looking to buy a new driveshaft ? 02 z28 camaro

Want to install a new driveshaft on my 02 z28 camaro 5.7 L v8 LS1 but really don't know what direction to head in so I figured I might be able to get some input on this ? Everything on my car is stock so as I can tell and I am a new owner to the f-body style so I greatly appreciate the help.

If there is nothing wrong with the stock one it is fine especially if you have an A4. If you have an M6 I would look at changing out the rear and DS together if you plan on any drag racing.

I want to change it out because I am Hearing some rattling and not sure what it is My gear shifter rattles but only when ingaged and doing about 75 and when I lay down on the gas and I read some things and it was said it possibly is my drive shaft and plus I plan on putting a 6.2 liter ls3 in sometime in the near future so I have a lot of upgrades to do as far as my chassis goes. I want everything to run and sound smooth and it was smooth when I first bought it but now I have obtained some rattling so I figure might as well start replacing the stock parts with something that will last longer and work more efficient.

Where would be the best place to buy a rear end and driveshaft ? New to the F-body and not looking for nothing fancy just want everything to work well together so I figure aftermarket is the way to go. Did some looking online and didnt really find a whole lot.

This section is as far as you should need to look for information on what rear you need. You will see threads from Bob at Brute Speed, Eric at MWC, and Carl at CRP that will all help you out with questions. 12 bolt, Dana, or 9" is pretty much the norm. I went Dana (because of price and how I wanted to use the car) which caused me to need a new drive shaft. Just search, read, and ask questions to make your decisions. What you plan on using your car for will determine what mods you should do. Even with an LS3 I think the stock driveshaft would hold up fine as long as you are not doing rpm dumps IMO. It sounds like you need to get up underneath your car and do some looking around. In the meantime all you may need is to rebalance your driveshaft? Not sure. Good luck.

Take a look at the above link, the info I have put together here should help you out.

http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...c-Truetrac.htm
The nine inch with a Trac-Loc is a great way to go for up to 500 rwhp. Past 500 rwhp I would go with the Wavetrac, shown here. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...h-Wavetrac.htm

Here is the driveshaft I recommend.

Let me know if you have any questions. Bob

The 3" steel PST driveshaft is less money, but steel can transmit more vibrations than aluminum. Bob

Best bang for the buck is the Strange S60 rearend, and we can couple that with a steel, chromoly, or aluminum driveshaft. With a manual transmission car I would not spend too much time, effort, or money on the stock rearend or driveshaft... its when, not if, there will be a failure of one or both.

Give us a call! Midwest Chassis is a direct dealer for Strange, Moser, and Yukon, and manufacture the ever-popular Midwest Chassis fabricated 9" package. We will have the guaranteed best deal on any rearend package you want for your f-body car, and the street and track experience to back it all up.

I currently have the Moser rears 10% off my already low prices that also include free shipping, for the remainder of this month. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...c-Truetrac.htm
Check out the link here, take 10% off what the total price comes to, and these rears ship out just two days after the order is placed. Bob
