Default drive shaft torsional dampers and slip yoke lengths ?

two questions:

1) on my transmission slip yoke (car is 2002 camaro ss 6-speed) there is a torsional damper. what's you're thoughts on this? are they needed? Need a new (different length) drive shaft to go with a 1350 transmission slip yoke for the Strange S60 rear i am currently putting in my car.

2) I am getting a 27 spline 1350 slip yoke to use for now, along with a 3.5" aluminum drive shaft of correct length. not sure from who yet. But in the future should i decide to upgrade my T56 transmission I would most likely get one with a 31 spline or whatever output shaft. So if i do that, I need a new slip yoke. And if i get a new slip yoke, then I most likely need another drive shaft... this is what i'd like to prevent if possible. does anyone know the specifics on various transmission slip yokes that are available in 27 and 31 spline? or will i definitely be screwed and need a different length drive shaft ?

The yoke torsional damper can be left out (can't obtain a new one anyway).

yeah ok it's not needed

what qualifies anybody, including sponsors on here selling drive line parts, to say you can remove the slip yoke torsion damper?

when you guys rebuild an engine, do you leave off the damper on the front of the crank?

I agree on engine crankshaft damper.

I would install a yoke damper but I can't find any...!?

My earlier GM vehicles never came with a yoke damper.

Thing is, GM spent money to install one on the lat F-cars...
