Default M29 T56.. 3.73's or 4.10 gears?

My 93 z28 has the M29 T56.. So my stock rear gears are 3.23's. I'm really wanting 4.10's but people have told me that would be too steep of a gear to go with my trans.. Would 3.73's or 4.10's be better? I'm really wanting more bottom end.

I have a 93Z with the m29 and it has 4.10s and its awesome. Its a turd (stock) so every bit of gearing advantage helps.

Good! So what kind of difference did it make on take off? Yours had 3.23's stock right?

Honestly I never drove it without the 4.10s, I'm its newest recent owner and the gears were installed before I got it.

On M6 I would go with 4.10s. Seems to me like it would be a better combination

It depends on your total set-up. I run 3.90's and for the street it's an ideal gear. 4.10's shorten 1st gear too much IMO. I went from 3.23's to 3.90's and am very happy. If you're gonna go 3.73, go 3.90.

As of right now it has a moroso cold air intake, flowmaster and no cat, tb bypass, and a shifter.. Also I've taken quite a bit of weight out of it. I'm wanting to put headers on it in the near future and put a different muffler on it, and then I wanna get some QA1 adjustable shocks.

You want 3.73's if your runnin a stock height tire. 3.90 at the most for that trans.

With that trans go 3.73. 1st gear in that combo will have about the same final drive ratio as a T56 and 4.10's, which at the power level these cars can make with just a heads/cam will overwhelm just about any tire short of a drag radial.

When I get around to replacing my rear, I'm going down to 3.73's as I don't want to run a soft wall'd drag radial on street. I can't even hook 1st and sometimes 2nd with 295 KDW 2's with my current setup.
