Default Need Gearing Advice

Complete noob here wondering what gearing is best. Car will be a daily driver, so mpgs are of some concern, but definitely want some decent acceleration too, after all it is why I'm LS swapping.

Car weights 3700 lbs. Will be powered by by an 01/02 ls1/t56. Front and rear tire height is 27.7 and 28.13 respectably. Car comes with a 3.09 open.

edit: had the tire sizes backwards

4.10 or 4.30 with that tall of a tire and your weight.

With the t56 456 or 411 will work great and still be torque monster.

I think a 4.09 lsd is available for my chassis that's plug and play. Do you guys think I would still be able to get somewhere in the 20's for mpg's?

There's a guy with the same car running an ls6/4l60e with ported heads, Comp Cam and lifters. ported TB, and custom headers/exhaust running the stock open 3.09. He claims 23 mpg highway.

Tire size does seem a bit tall. I'll be running 295 35 20 rears on 11" wheels. Some versions come with 20x10's stock so I'm not that much bigger.

20 mpg's on the highway shouldn't be a problem at all! With my HCI combo plus 4.10's I can still pull 20-22 highway

your a bit heavier than a 4th gen but that shouldnt kill your mpg , its not like its 4000 pounds.

what exactly is the car ? if its an old car you swapping in the bodys arent as aerodynamic , 4th gens are slippery , even next to a 2nd gen TA which I also own the windshield looks so straight up parked next to my 4th gen's and thats an f body , a 60's chevelle , 80's malibu , shoebox , etc... are more of a brick than a 2nd gen f body .

I see people with older swaps mention how much it knocks down their trap speeds compared to similar combo in a 4th gen.
