Default 12 bolt locker?

Ok, this is purely out of curiousity, because thus far I'm happy with the Eaton posi, and I don't really see my car ever becoming a purely track car, or something that doesn't get driven at least 3 times a week. But who knows what may change down the road.

Anyways from what I've read, I got the impression that the only options for a 12 bolt were the posi or a spool, and no lockers were availible. Well, an off-roader directed me to powertrax.com and lockright.com, and both those sites offer a powertrax locker for a GM 12 bolt, albeit 30 spline only. I know people must be aware of this, so what is it about those lockers that doesn't work since no one uses one? Too weak? Don't fit? Just wondering...

Those fit inside the case case I believe, you need to start with a stock open case and add the powertrax unit - I would imagine its not made for drag racing. As far as I know no one makes a locker for a car 12 bolt.

I raced the hell out of my Powertrax locker. I had it in a 9 inch though. From what Powertrax says, it is rated at 1000 hp. Never had an issue with it at all.

I dunno, I have installed them in a couple 12 bolt street cars and they didnt seem very stout. I thought they mentioned right in the instructions that they were not intended for drag racing.. Could be wrong though, been a while.
