Default Help with rearend decision

Hey guys, I am almost ready and throwdown on a new 9 inch for my 98 camaro. I currently have 3.23 gears which allows me to cross the finish line right at my rev limiter in 2nd gear. I race at a 1/8th mile track and my car is street legal but for fun only. It has a th350 with a 3500 stall and so far my best pass was a 7.87@88 with no tunning on my new setup. I am really undecided if I should go with a 4.10 or 3.89 gear and am debating on what length I should go with. I am thinking about going with 2" shorter on each side. I will be throwing on some 275-60-15 drag radials for sure and am thinking about a 15X8 weld wheel with 4.5 back spacing. Give me advice please. Also what kind of et reduction could I expect. I am getting a 1.70 60 ft now.

I do plan to add a 100 shot also and to also run some 1/4 mile tracks. This has me wondering if I would run out of gear. I dont want to spin my motor more than 6500.

I'd go with 3.89 gears since you're adding a 100 shot. 2" narrower per side should keep you in the stock location. Bob

I'd actually run a 3.70 with your rpm, trans, and tire combo... it will allow a little more for you to grow in the future, especially if you plan on using nitrous.

I have a lot of customers running the 275 and 315 drag radial tires and have a ton of data from track use. Give me a call and we can discuss all the options and pricing for a good rearend package. The quickest and fastest stock suspension f-body cars are all using MWC rearends and suspension!
