exciter ring question (help asap)

Default exciter ring question (help asap)

im getting them pressed on the axles tomorrow...im what order do they go in?

is it rings/ backing plates/ bearings? (from wheel to pumpkin)

Yeah, From the outside to the pumpkin - Exciter ring, backing plate, bearing.

The backing plate bolted to the axle housing is what holds the bearing in there - Make sure you put the backing plate on in the right orientation. I would give it to the shop with the plate on correctly and tell them that it needs to go on in the way you have it. you wouldn't want them to screw that up!!

ive had the moser on for about 7 months but never got the rings on...which way do the rings go on? since they look different on each side? like which side of the ring faces the wheel?

Shouldn't matter, the teeth are cut the same. The sensor is just a magnet that induces voltage as it passes the teeth. Since the teeth are cut semetrically' it doesn't matter the direction. Who cares about the ring edge if it is at all different.

the rings are biased to one side. If the teeth are too far away wont the sensor get bad readings?
