Unhappy Best Source for F body 8.8...need one NOW!!

I just destroyed my stock 10 bolt with 3.73s!! I have checked and it seem like the 8.8 is the best option (lots of 12 bolts break too). I checked with Extreme Chassis in Dallas and they can't have one to me for 3-4 weeks.....I need one now (car is on stand in garage with stripped ring and pinion)...

ANYONE know where I could get one now???

also does anyone have anything bad to say about the 8.8s modded for F bodies....my car have ABS and Traction control with the exciter rings on the 8.8 work? Will My stock brakes work....do I need a different backspacing wheel? WIll my driveshaft work? JUst need some advice, I might just break down and buy a 12 bolt, but I want the best option for my 10 sec Street 99 Z28.......thanks

Well, here is what I know of it. It keeps the stock BS because it uses the factory 7.625 axle tubes. As for the exciter rings and such you will have to talk to those guys at Extreme performance to find out if you can get it with the options you want. 8.8 is a good unit but so is a 12 bolt. Anything can be broken with the proper application of torque LOL. Seriously call them and see what your options are. You may find out that it is gonna cost you just as much to get a fully loaded 8.8 as you will a 12 bolt. Well you may save a few hundred bucks maybe but the point is that you can get the 12 bolt in a week or two. The 8.8 I'm not so sure about. If you need to drive the car just put 3.42's back in for awhile.

If your an auto guy i don't think you will break a 12 bolt. I know the posi suck and that only took me 4 months to destroy. I'm looking to run in the nines this year and im not worryed about my rearend. A 12 bolt with a spool is a good combo and i drive on the street with et streets no big deal. You will save money on a 12 bolt going spool 175.00 vs posi 450.00 and won't last at the track. And if your set against the 12 bolt what about billsensly ford nine inch that looks like a nice piece. And for resale a 12bolt or nine inch will sell hands down faster than a 8.8 will. Thats like buying a camaro vs a mustang you will have to give the mustang away .
