Default 75w90 or 80w90

I'm getting some JEGS 4.10 gears installed next week on my 02 WS6 6-speed. No one can give me a definitive answer on which gear oil to use and why. I can read my manual all day long, but I'm not installing 3.42 back there. Thoughts?

I would go with the 80w90 gear lube, it is slightly thicker and can make a set a set of gears sound slightly quieter. Bob

I've been doing a little more research on this. Seems 80w90 is the way to go w/ 4.10 gears. I'm down between Royal Purple and Lucas Oil. Anyone have experience w/ any of these or others?

stay away from synthetic, go with a good dyno oil for your rear.

synthetic is great if you're not beating on it or trying to squeeze every last mpg out of the rear.
