Default 96 10 bolt vs 00 10 bolt

Other than the brakes being mounted differently, will I be able to retrofit 2000 brakes onto a 96 rear end? I got a different rear end I'm trying to swap into my 2000 SS that came out of a 96 SS and I'm wondering if anyones do this before

I believe as long as you use the correct backing plates they should interchange.
