Default 98 10 bolt rear end install what do I need

I bought a 2000 z28 automatic last year has what I believe is a bad axle bearing guy said he drove it for a year and a half that way so I figured axle is probably shot as well I picked up a rear end out of a manual 98 so I have the 3.42 instead of 2.73 but I don't want to just throw it in my car has 87000 which is around what the rear end is supposed to have.... I'm planning on doing axle bearings and seals brakes new fluid and a new coat of paint what else do you recommend thought about pinion seal but don't really wanna mess with setting preload and also what fluid was thinkin maybe royal purple? Thanks

I'm in the same boat regarding same swap. I've rebuilt engines but don't know squat about a rear end
