Default 8.8 build question

I want to throw an 8.8 in my Camaro. I have the skills and tools to do the swap, but I am ignorant to rear end setups. I want to know if you can use an 8.8 28 spline carrier w/ the Camaro axles and 9" bearing ends, eliminating the c clips.

Here is my thought. I can save the cost of having axles made. I also don't have to worry about the mismatch of the Camaro axle c clips w/ the 8.8 carrier. If the Camaro axles fail, I can get a 31 spline carrier and have custom axles made.

Will it work? Thanks guys.

yes you can use a ford 28 spline carrier with gm 28 spline axels
as for 9in bearing ends???? cant help ya there pm hiltsy he'll know.
the c-clips are almost identical in size and shape so i wouldnt worry about it.
yes you can have 31 spline axels made to fit your set up but you will pay for it.

Really? That's awesome, seeing as how the Ford axles are 1.29" diameter and the GM axles are 1.20" diameter. Not to mention the spline cut and pressure angles which I have no knowledge of...

why not upgrade to an explorer 31 spline carrier? and to use 9 inch bearing ends you need new axles that allow bearings to be pressed on them.
