Default Stock 10 bolt Qs

Does anyone know "about" how much hp these rear ends will hold before breaking?

I plan on running drag radials (305/35/r18) mickey thompsons. Ive read where people have strengthened them with internals, but still have issues under too much power. I'm only planning on about 600-700hp.

I broke mine with stock power with an A4... yeah they suck. even worse if you have a 6spd. best bet is a Moser 12, Moser 9", Strange S60, MWC Fab 9, all are for different needs and such. *Note S60 are considerably heavier than the rest*

I prefer the 9" first, but Ive been told that unless you make serious power, the weight and bulk of it could slow the car down. They said that anywhere around 600-900 hp the 12 bolt is the best bet. I dont know if its easier to find a used 12 bolt and do all the work as far as swapping everything out and fabricating it, or just buying one already built. I know theres a big difference in money, but I dont want to go the first route and end up with spending more in the long run, if anythings wrong or has to be re done.

What is your budget and what are your power goals?

I'm going with a Moser 12 for my build and I'll be making upward of 700rwhp through a TR6060 (5th Gen 6 speed).

Friend of mine is building his 408 turbo stroker and going with a Fab 9, He'll be making 1000rwhp+ on a conservative tune, 1400rwhp max and probably 850rwhp on daily tune.

IMO- narrow it down to the MWC fab 9" or the S60 from CRP. The 9" will be more expensive but definitely lighter than the S60, no to mention the wider variety in gear options. However, the S60 will be stronger and cheaper. I'm personally going through Carl for the S60 due to the balance of budget and durability. (In no way knocking MWC's product quality)

Default 10 Bolts suck!

I read an article that mentioned something about the 10 bolt rear ends being able to hold a maximum of 400 rwhp no matter what you do to them. That being said, if you were making 600 and ran slicks you would blow the 10 bolt up within 2 or 3 passes if you launched it hard lol.

In my opinion I wouldn't push my 10 bolt passed 450, and that is more daily driving not drag racing. If I plan on going over 450 I would definitely invest in a different rear end because in the long run you'll end up rebuilding the rear end again.
