Default can an S60 hold the power? fab 9 is too $$$$

ive been trying to find the perfect rear for the perfect price for a couple weeks now... my motor set up will be a stroked 408 lq4, with a TVS2300 on top making between 10-15 lbs of boost. would like to tune motor between 700 and 800 hp & tq. behind that will be a 4L80 with manual valve body built by monster trans. in a perfect world i could find a lightly used fab 9 with low 3.xx gears, and the wavetrac diff for around $2000. lol! so i have been looking at the S60's from strange, spohn, and others, and they give slightly different options with various pricing. but im not sure all of the components i have selected are rated to hold 800+ ft lbs of tq. i would like rating to be at least 100 lbs or hp above what it actually makes. but anyway, heres the list.

need posi diff for weekend driving on backroads. - 35 spline detriot truetrac.
35 spline axels (dont know if they can be fabed on ? no option online0
3 ch ABS
3.54 gear (lowest they offer) would like a 3.00-3.50
reuse stock brakes
stock backing plates
stock studs
chromoly pinion
conversion u joint
bare metal finish

that would run me about $2550. im not sure if the carrier can hold the power or the axels or the pinion, thats what im asking, am i limited to just the wavetrac here? where else can i find s60's and 9"s or even a 12 bolt if its built right custom fabbed for not $4000? ive been on moser, spohn, MWC, strange, and brutespeed's sites. and searching the classified on here every now and then.

Contact Carl @ CRP on here. You can get the S60 with an STrac which is very similar to the Wavetrac

Yes the S60 can handle it. Racers choose the 9 inch more for the ability to change the gears easily than the strength and they can be setup on the bench.

The S60 has a larger ring gear, 9.5 inches, and the penion is positioned in a better location in relation to the ring gear.

Good luck.

I thought the S-trac for the S60 was basically a tru-trac made from a different source.

I'd like to know if an s60 w/ trutrac could handle a 600whp nitrous launch on a 6spd without getting noisy or breaking. A 4k+ rear with a wavetrac isn't happening for me, I'll go spool before I do that, but if an s60 w/ trutrac can do it I'm in.

The S60 with trutrac or Strac has received this type of use on a regular basis, I've yet to have a customer break one. The S60 has no warranty for noise but rarely is it a problem. Every rear will have some noise after a few launches at the track.

Yes! My S60 never missed a beat and never got noisy to the point it couldn't be tolerated. Launched on 28'' ET Drags
