Default what gears?

So I will be ordering a moser 9 inch this week and I can't decide which gears I should order with the new rear. Iv been looking at 4.11 and 4.30. My setup is a 408 with a M6. Motor was built for maximum power and I plan on running slicks. Also this is not a daily driver, car see's maybe 25 miles a month. Any input is greatly appreciated.

what size slick will you be running? 26" 27" or 28"?? that has a lot to do with gear ratio along with your cam selection? Does your cam come in lower or upper rpm range

That 408 should have some good torque. Personally I wouldn't go any higher than a 4.11

Im wanting to run a 27" slick. Don't remember what size cam off the top of my head but the motor doesn't really make power til about 3500 rpm.

Built for nitrous. Might see a 150 shot some where down the road. For now all N/A.

Honestly I would do a 3.90 gear for a sprayed 408. James Short a short tuning on had a similar setup. 3.90 gears tanned the best on spray but if staying on motor 4.11 would be a good gear.

I agree with the 3.90s

FWIW I'm running a 402 with 3.70 gear. I trap 125 in 1/4 on motor hitting 6900rpm in 3rd. It was geared for a 300 hit but the car doesn't like the 3.70 out of the hole. Off the 2 step at 5k it bogs then gets going. If been toying with changing to a 4.11 but I don't know how the car reacts with the gas as I haven't sprayed it yet.
