Default Removing Moser axle bearings to change backing plates...

So I picked up a 3 channel Moser 12 bolt for my 98. The rear is a 3 channel, so I need to put my 4 channel backing plates on there. Obviously the bearings are pressed on, is it possible to have them removed and reinstalled without damaging them? Id hate to ruin a $65 set of bearings that don't have many miles on them to begin with.

Yes lightly hit the wedding ring with a chisel and order a new pair of wedding rings, press the bearings off by the INNER RACE... put your backing plates on and press the bearings back on till they hit the shoulder and then your rings.

Thanks man... I think Im gonna order the bearings just in case, Id rather have them than not. Just hate to waste good bearings, but I guess in the grand scheme of things, they're relatively cheap.

Ended up replacing the bearings too, couldn't get them off without destroying them.
