Default Setting pinion depth

Ok so I'm going to use setup bearings with the ID honed bigger to slip on and off the pinon easy. Now I have all Timken bearings for final install, but all I can find locally for the setup bearings are other brand bearings like National, Durabond etc.

Is this going to mess up the readings using other brand setup bearings and Timken bearings for final setting? As usual I didnt fully plan this out ahead of time and Id like to work on it this weekend so I cant just order them online and wait a week.

I hope this made sense, thanks.

I see no problem ( I would proceed )
bearings are made to same tolarance, but some brands do seem to last better than other brands

You can always mic the the bearing set you use to set it up and then mic the new bearings and either make sure they are the same or adjust your shim pack as needed.

Sweet thanks, I'm just gonna go for it and see how it works out. Hopefully try it out this Sunday.
