Default pinion bearing longevity

Have 02 Z with axle bearing raising hell. Pretty cheap to replace with good axles and new bearings. Are the pinion bearings good for the long haul? Not a race car, never was. Just won't get into the rear end that far if they're on par with axle. Better stuff to use I know but, at a cost. Driver/handling type car is the goal here. Or just find a low milage rear and call it good?

Don't worry about pinion and carrier bearings. Fix your axle stuff and seal it back up with new fluid and call it good.

sounds like you're replacing the axles so you don't have to use 'axle saver' bearings which are to be avoided.

Yea, I hear ya. Never been big on the "band aid" repairs.
