Does anyone know if the internal gearing for 2 series and 3 series Torsen carriers is the same? I broke some of internal gearing, NOT THE RING AND PINION. I have a 3 series but I think the internals are all the same 2 or 3 series. I need to know before I buy a used carrier for the parts. Was going to just swap out the internals so the setup won't change.

Being that the internals cap(with 4 or 6 bolts) is further away from pinion centerline for a 2 series carrier compared to a 3 series carrier,I suspect the some of the internals might have to be longer,BUT I could be totally wrong in that guess.

upon thinking about it, the internals cap could be thicker to take up that distance to allow same parts to be used.

Id risk it, its a mass produced part that would likely share as many parts as possible to keep costs down. I bet its altered between the two models like First said, with a different thickness end cap or something similar.

Well I'm figuring the axles are always in the same place so the internal gearing should be to. Only thing I ever noticed was the mounting land for the ring gear being in a different place.
