4.30 vs 4.56
Hi all, have a 2002 z28 a4 texas speed magic stick 4, a yank 3600 converter, long tubes, 4.10 gears drag tires and wheels with 295/55/15 rear tires (27.75 tall) the car runs good best 11.61 at 118 mph with a 1.72 60 ft , it crosses the line at about 5800 rpm and the tune shifts the trans at 6500 rpm . thinking about going to 4.30 gears or 4.56 the 4.30s in my calculation will put my finish line rpm between 6100 and 6200 , with the 4.56s it would be at 6500 or 6600. looking for opinions or expeirences with these gears , also thinking about going to a 4000 yank converter. Im just not happy with the 60 ft times and the way the car leaves I would like to see the 60ft times atleast in the 1.65 to 1.68, thanks in advance and welcome all intelligent opinions.

I still have to answer your PM,but what's your suspension setup ?
You told the size of the tires but not what they are.
Are they hooking or not ?
A SS4000 might be needed because of that cams powerband.
saw the type of tire in the PM,so disregard that.

I have a 4.56 gear in a nine inch with 28" slicks and an A3. The car dead hooks with full suspension and weight 2800lbs. The rev limiter is set at 6500 and it runs out of motor well before the quarter mile. While not the same trans, just wanted to say be careful you can easily go too steep.
