I am told that in the mid-west and south, there are HEAPS of them in their yards.
Of course you could always grab an S10/Sonoma axle and adapt it.

Ya know, ive been here a while, read a few responses, and even posted a few times too, and this response is THE dumbest thing ive ever read. As I lay down to go to sleep in a few minutes, I can only hope I have a heart attack in my sleep, never to awake, so I won't have to see this retarded post in the morning.

i love how dramatic this is lol. I'm glad to see everyone's still chatting about this, i figured there would be a lot of opinions on the subject. I think i will stick with my 10 bolt for the time being and do a few other mods before hopping straight to an aftermarket rear end but i do see that being in my future. When the time comes i will be sure to contact the sponsors on here!

anyone consider the crush sleeve, doesn't the pinion gear get thrusted forward away from the ring gear under load driving the car forward?
if you assemble the rear with a crush sleeve and by design crush the crush sleeve, are you then to expect the crush sleeve will never crush any more? not even under repeated launching of a 3700 lb car from a stop with the forward thrust load generated pushing the pinion gear forward into the crush sleeve?

My car ran 12.4 on the current 10 bolt Torsen by the previous owner. No fancy stuff in it either. No ARP studs, no girdle, nothing special at all.
My car also shattered a couple other 10 bolts, at least one of them was an Auburn. Shredded the teeth on one, I think it blew the carrier on the the other but I don't really remember. Wasn't my car yet at the time, I just knew the owner.
I think one of the problems with the 10 bolt is just how variable they can be. You have some that break just by looking at them funny, and then you have others that you try to break and they don't. I'm just glad my car has one of the better 10 bolts in it.
