Default Anyone have any experience with Yukon LSD's?

I bought a Yukon LSD and 3.90 gear set back last year for my 96 S10 but never got around to putting it in. I bought a 98 Trans am about 2 weeks ago and would rather use it in my car. I've been told the LSD's are more truck oriented but I'm not really sure if that's true. Is it a decent locker for our cars? Pic of the unit below.

98 f-bods had 28 spline,96 S10 might have had 26 spline, you'll have to track down info based on its' part number.

Theyre both 28 spline. The S10 was 26 until 1988 then they switched over to 28. I was just wondering if anyone had ran this brand in an F Body before and had any feedback.

It is, but I believe it has old school steel clutch packs (like the old '60s musclle car Eaton Posi) instead of the carbon clutch packs in the current Eaton Posi.
(Someone correct me if I am incorrect with this info.)

If its a clutch type posi, it's not a locker. If its a locker, it's not a clutch type posi. Using these terms interchangeably only serves to confuse those that are trying to learn. But other then that, no ive never heard of anyone running these in an fbody, however, if I had one, id be willing to try it.

Subs

I have been wondering the same.

I dont know if the ABS reluctor used in 3ch ABS systems will fit on the outer diameter of the 10 bolt ring gear flange.

IF this is the one that this thread is about

https://www.yukongear.com/ProductDet...px?ProdID=5305

the details about it claims compatable with 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds so it SHOULD be machined to accept the 3 channel ABS ring. As 01ssreda4 said,I would also be willing to try/use it if I had one.

After a little Googling you're right. They're practically a clone of the Eaton. You can rebuild them with Eaton parts actually.

I have a Yukon LSD in the stock rear of my 2002 Z/28. It works great and has been in there for about 3 years. Use the Ford friction modifier instead of the GM stuff. Used both and the Ford product is better.
