Red face 7.5 carrier please help

Can i put a posi carrier out of a up to a 92 s10 into my 79 monte carlo 7.5 rearend. If not which one can i use or what should i use. I know that there is something i can use without dumping alot of money in something ive never done.

As long as the axle spline count matches yes they can be switched around.

Thank . I also heard that the auburn is not rebuildable.

I dont believe. I think the Yukon and Eaton are though.

The Auburns used to be rebuildable(to a certain degree) back in the 60s'/70s' when they had a case that was able to be split open with 6 bolts. I've brought back to life those auburns by grinding down the smaller ends of the cones(decreasing their length) and used longer springs to compensate. Just a temporary fix.

No i just thought that there was a car that already have one at the junk yard that i could use. But i went online and found out that the 26 spline cost much more than the 28 spline carrier. Wtf

Since the 98 up camaro has a 7.5 posi carrier. Can I take carrier out with 28 spline put it on my rearend and buy new 28 spl axles?

If 28 spline axles are not available for the vehicle,no you can't.

Somebody may make that axle? Or you could have them made. Dunno if it's worth the cost though....

that 92 is the same 26 splines as the monte, you should just look for a 80s carrier or complete axle set up, not easy to find one i assure you :p craigslist away!
