Default 1300rwhp, heavy car, and trans brake = Carnage

Out at the track this past Saturday laying down some new personal best runs until the pinion decided to let go.

Car did end up going 8.70@160 the pass before it broke.

It broke clean off, and the case looks good. Going to toss in some new bearings all the way around, a new gear set, and keep going.

Ouch!

Although very rare this can happen. FWIW street gears are 8620 alloy, which is very hard and more brittle than the 9310 alloy pro gears(track only).

Street gears are 28 spline(small stem) only, pro gears are available in both in most cases, some ratios are large stem(35 spline) only.

Ouch! How heavy is the car? Any trans carnage from the rear popping? Fairly common with a big driveline shock

None that I am aware of, trans literally has 60 miles on it since rebuild so I really hope not. Data log shows it rev'ed to 7600 which isn't a whole lot for the combo, not to mention it was shut down right away.
