...and there goes my 7.5 rear
Well the inevitable has happened after 60-70+ passes on my 6mt 7.5 with 4.10s thrown in it and my best pass of 12.1 the other night. my burnouts were beginning to be weird, do a pass it spins then starts clicking.
now I have a rotational clicking noise, including in neutral and with the motor off...
all signs point to the rear. I have not gotten to get it on the lift yet.
but looks like I will be doing a moser 9" rear soon

Have you looked into our fabricated nine inch? It is the only rear end on the market that bolts back in just like the 10-bolt came out. Pricing is inline with most all rear ends if you consider the fact you get a better designed torque arm that no longer mounts like the factory unit.

quite a few of my friends drive there cars on the street with spools with minimal issues other than noise which I don't care about.
and I put it up on the lift at work this morning and it is 100% the rear.

I drove on the street for years with my DD at a young age with a spool and it didn't bother me nor did I notice any excessive tire wear that wasn't called by a heavy foot anyways.
My own personal opinion if you are building a vehicle to go drag racing go with a spool, it will be the last diff you ever purchase and will require no maintenance and the least expensive choice out there.
There is a lot of downfalls with other non spool differentials, a clutch posi needs to have the fluid flushed after so many miles as regular maintenance and new additive added back in to help with clutch life/chatter, a detroit locker is like driving a Mac truck which pops annoyingly around corners, a trutrac style is virtually maintenance free but has a weaker case that can't handle abuse an flexes during hard acceleration causing premature gear wear, and then you have a Wavetrac or s-Trac. Made to handle anything and everything you throw at it, characteristics of a stock posi unit, virtually maintenance free, but cost a few more bucks than anything else.
I've driven with them all and used them all for different applications, if you have the money and want a do everything type vehicle look at investing into the S-Trac or Wavetrac. We do offer a Powertrax unit now that has held up to some decent HP levels but not designed for applications that want to hit 1000whp, that's where the S-Trac falls into place.

I've installed S60, 12-bolt, stamped nine inches, and none have those items making it much easier and cleaner install. No zip ties or u-bolt clamps needed.
Those features were added because we not only build our fabricated housings here in house we install them as well and trust me when you do installations you see things that make it easier.

We are the only rear end on the market that comes with stock style mounted anti-sway bar brackets installed, brake hose brackets installed,1998-2002 rearend models include e-brake cable bracket installed, brake line clips welded on, and chassis brake hose adapter included.

If you look at the fact you get a torque arm and crossmember with the order it equals out in pricing to stamped housings that don't come with them. Most customers find it works out well selling their aftermarket torque arm if they already have one.

Still no E-brake bracket or brake line tab. So the MWC is still the only one to come with all of those features and some aftermarket rear ends make you pay for a drain plug.

I'm in the same boat 6spdg37s, twisted my driveshaft and destroyed my rear end all at once at the track a few weeks ago. Didn't realize the rear end was done until I replaced the driveshaft and took it out for a test drive and heard the nasty sound of twisted metal.

IMO When I put a 9 incher in mine with a spool was about the end of my driving it near daily. Parking lots are a PITA. But like said above. If you still want to drive it often go with a good posi, If not that much of a driver go with the spool

^^Also, IF you ever want to go around (AND exit) turns quickly, go with a Wavetrac, or Platinum Trac for a 9" axle.
(Yes, despite the fact that the road course only Aussie V-8 Supercar series requires them to use a spool, even though they are all on IRS set ups now.)
