Default Mod Path Poll, What Would You Do?

Hey guys, looking for some advice. I have a 98 Trans Am m6 with full exhaust, tune and lid making 310whp and ran a 13.6@105 w/ 2.2 60ft. My wife and I are looking to start a family so I figure there will be little to no time and $$ to work on the car for a couple of yrs once a newborn comes in the picture probably next winter if all goes well. I went to the track 4 times this year and drove a total of 2200 sunny day miles this year. I drive the car pretty hard but never from a dig, and with my crappy 2.2 60 slipping the clutch, my rear has lasted/ sounded the same since I got the car a couple of years ago. The rear does sound like it can use a rebuild.

SCENARIO=, Pick an option and keep the car as is for 3yrs. The car is not your DD, your 29, and you will die before getting rid of your Trans Am.

Option 1 (Cash in hand)
Rebuild 10 bolt yourself w. Solid pinion spacer, New gears 3.73s and bearings, (already have ta girdle)
2 New street tires which I need (fronts are down to wear bars) NEW nitto nt05s which would go in on the rears.
Mega mouth SSRA
delete non functional a/c

Option 2 (need to save another 1100)
Have a local build a proven 8.8 for my car with 4.10s
I won't have enough money for anything else this summer. It will be harder to improve my 60 with my current tires but in 2 yrs I can buy drag radials.
Delete a/c

I have a ported tb waiting to get installed. I do not plan on adding much more to the car besides a ls6 intake later down the road. What would you guys do and did you guys find it hard to still go to the track as often after you had kids? Not sure what to expect, just looking for some feedback.

Thanks, sorry for the long post.

Option 2 100%

There is nothing like driving a manual ls1 and not have to worry about rear end failure.

Just make sure that 8.8 has 31 spline minimum with upgraded internals.

on an M6 car most of the experienced guys on here recommend building the car from the rear forward so option 2 sounds good
