i am wanting to install a 31 spline full spool into an 8.8 4 lug rear. I know that I need the c clip eliminators.

Question is this. Will a 31 spline axle still use the same axle bearing behind the brakes as the 28 spline? I dont want to spend money on 31 spline stuff only to find that I will need bigger tubes themselves because the axle bearing is larger. Also, is the differential bearing a different size as well for 31 vs 28 spline.

I have disassembled the axle down to what needs to be cut off for the c clip eliminators. But most eliminator kits don't specify 28 or 31 spline axles.

bearings are same, the diameter narrows down on 28 spline towards center. on 31 spline it stays about same diameter all the way through
