Default Keeping stock rear end alive

I have a 2001 SS M6, that is 470rwhp with stock gears and rear axle minus moser shafts. Beside the obvious(keeping my foot out of it), what can I do to keep this axle alive? I would love to regear to 3:73's but with that many horses under the hood, is it a mute point? Thoughts? Advise?

Thx. Be gentle I'm new to this site!

I'm around 600 rwhp with a 6-speed and 4.10's on the 10 bolt. I'm sure I'm on borrowed time though lol

No dig runs or hard launches. Make sure your clutch combo engages smoothely. Change fluid regularly. Rear girdle

probably your best bet. I'm in the 490-520 range and just blew mine out doing some hard shifts 1-2 and 2-3. Even from a roll. If you can shift to second at full throttle and hook you'll break. I ran shitty tires for a while but in truth they saved the rear. Break loose before breaking teeth

Thanks
When you are ready to purchase a rear end that bolts back in just like stock one came out let us know and we can take care of you.

Midwest Chassis F-Body Fabricated Nine Inch Specs

Midwest Chassis F-Body Fabricated Nine Inch Pricing

As for making the 10-bolt survive it depends on how much you want to spend in hopes it will survive. Some times it works out and people have good luck making a 10-bolt survive, if they didn't we wouldn't sell rear diff covers as much as we do BUT there are others that want to have fun with their vehicle and no amount of added parts helped their rear end survive and this is why we are shipping out F-Body fabricated nine inches built here in house every day if not two to three a day.

If pricing is a factor we can also set you up with anything from Moser and Strange at unbeatable prices but if you do the math and don't already have a good torque arm you come out money ahead purchasing our rear end package that comes with a torque arm and crossmember of your choice.

Any questions feel free to ask.

The problem with the cover alone is it does nothing to keep the housing itself from twisting.

^^^^^Right. Tube welding time. Lotta effort but betweenthat and a girdle you are getting rid of a lot of the problem. At least giving your ring gear a fighting chance.

That works until you crack the housing. T56 FTW.

You should see the shitty oil and metal sludge coming out of this thing.

Yes on a M6 car the 10bolt is not worth pissing with...us A4 guys can do a few mods to the 10 bolt and make it live for a long time...many have taken them well into the 10's.

S2000s have this issue stock main thing to give the diff some longer life is as said above - no hard launches, no drifting, don't drop gears in too hard etc.. just minimise shock loading.
